Some new video of the great fire of 2013
In 2013 a fire which was started by a lightning strike on Monte Jovet, on 14 July, burned for a month along the Val Raccolana. In addition to our previous articles, here are two videos of the events in Patocco in early August prepared from material filmed by Roberto Zanon.
The first video shows various footage filmed during the critical days of early August 2013:
The second video chronicles the events of 4 August when the fire threatened the houses in Patocco before crossing Rio Sbrici and burning all along the Val Raccolana. With the chatter from local residents in the background it captures some of the emotion of that day. The last minutes of the video capture the moment when a firestorm engulfed Rio Sbrici.
Patocco is located in the Val Raccolana, part of the "Comune di Chiusaforte" in Udine Province, Friuli Venezia Giulia. Italy.
