Patocco: A jewel in the Julian Alps
Autumn 2015 has been exceptionally mild with the first three weeks of November characterised by some beautiful warm sunny days. However, all this came to an end on 23rd November when the first snow of the winter arrived in Patocco.
In total about 5cm of snow fell and the roads have remained clear with no access problems

Patocco is a small picturesque mountain village nestling under the towering peaks of the Julian Alps in the north eastern most corner of Italy in the Friuli region.
A century ago it was well populated with families of subsistence farmers. Now, it is barely inhabited in winter, but in summer comes to life as a mountain paradise for peaceful relaxation and stunning scenery.
Patocco is located in the Val Raccolana, part of the "Comune di Chiusaforte" in Udine Province, Friuli Venezia Giulia. Italy.
